If this is your first time to meet an Apostolic Oneness Pentecostal, then please understand that mountains of slander have been heaped upon brethern by both sides of the Godhead issue. I was converted, baptized, and received the gift of the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues, under the preaching of trinitarian ministers. I continue to respect and appreciate that which was imparted to me by those gospel soldiers. Later as I came of age, the Holy Spirit began to deal with me that somewhere in fellowshipping those trinitarian ministries, I had become enslaved by Rome. As I attended and worshiped God in these trinitarian churches; God revealed that I had a Roman Slave Collar surrounding my neck. I did not understand. In later years, as I walked on in the Holy Spirit, I came to understand that I was in bondage to Roman Catholicism. Jesus wanted me free. I came to know this freedom as I followed his voice. You should understand that I may not be speaking for all "Jesus Name", "One God", believers, but I am speaking for this one. Why are we so un-movable? Simply, we believe that God sent the Call of the Holy Spirit to His church in the early 1900's restoring the church to the Apostolic doctrines of the New Testament. At each step into restoration, the church took a step away from Roman Catholicisim which had dominated and manipulated the minds and hearts of Christ's Church for more than a millenium. The Holy Spirit opened understanding. The "issues" of "Jesus Name water baptism", the "Oneness of God", which is a rejection of the Trinity, and Acts 2:38 as the most straight forward answer to the salvation question, all brought division. The minority saw these issues simply more biblical. The majority held to the Catholic Trinity in Concept of God, water baptism without calling on the name of the Lord, and neglect of Acts 2:38. If your are Trinitarian, you probably see no conflict as you look at these doctrines in light of the scriptures. However, we that are Oneness or Jesus Name believers do see conflict and understand that all attributes of trinitarianism are simply the off-spring of Roman Catholicism which is rooted in Romes pagan practices. We understand and believe that when God cried in the 1900's to Come Out of Her My People, (Her being the Mother Harlot Church System of Revelation), God was calling his Church back to the foundation of the 12 apostles. Thus all doctrines which were birthed in Catholicism and clearly not taught by the 12 apostles were rejected as it came to light. It was God's timing, thus his grace preserved us. This time our voice would not be silenced by separation, persecution or martyrdom as had been the result so often in previous centuries. God preserved us when all hated us, just as they did Martin Luther in his time. Not only did the "Jesus Name" Pentecostals return to the Oneness of God, water baptism in the name of the (Lord) Jesus Christ; but they also returned to the keys of the plan of salvation given to Peter and preached to both the Jewish and Gentile church in Acts ...Acts 2:38 and Acts 10:44-48 (Repentance, water baptism in Jesus' name, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost) We feel that if we stay in the scriptures there is safety. Man goes astray when, man feels he must improve on what God has stated. By the way, Jesus is the Son of God, the Prince of Peace, the Everlasting Father, Counselor, the Mighty God, Wonderful and Emmanuel, God with us. I am a Junior, my Dad is Senior. Jesus, to us, is not Jehovah Junior. Because when you have seen Christ, you have seen the Father. He is God manifested in the flesh. I realize that we are the minority, even though we may number over 17 million. We have to worship Jesus Christ, all the while being called heretics. Some might say look at how you are out numbered. The majority of the church stayed with the Trinitarian dogma. Thus the Oneness - Jesus name people must be in error. That thought has a ring of truth to it until one realizes, as I did, that the Oneness - Jesus Name people of God follow the Old Testament type of Israel. We are of the remnant, that minority which Came Out of Babylon, returned to the promise land to rebuild the city, its walls and temple worship. Yes, the majority of God's people were contented to remain in Babylon. The majority were not willing to make the complete journey back to the original. The same parallel exists in in the New Testament Church today. Thus, the spiritual parallel has been played out again. The Majority of the christian church stayed in spiritual Babylon by retaining so many doctrines and traditions of Roman Catholicism, ...a harlot on a spiritual level. That is why we can not change. To do so, would be to go back into Roman Catholicism, the Harlot Church System from which Jesus has called us out. If we were to go back to the dogmas of the dark ages, it would be denying light God has revealed at the Endtime. May God Bless you in your search for truth and revelation. May the Holy Spirit illuminate your path as you read the following studies or sermons. You are welcome to contact us if you would like help in your journey back to the Old LandMarks, which our fathers have set. Pope John said to the leaders of the major protestant denominations, you might as well join us, "you have our baptism." Did you know that almost every major protestant denomination, has Roman Catholic baptism rather than Christian Baptism? "I often wonder at people who think that in heaven they are going to see three Gods. If you ever see three Gods, then what the Mohammedans say about you is true and what the Jewish neighbor says about you is true. You are not a monotheist, you are a polytheist. You believe in a multiplication of Gods, plural. "Hear O Israel, the LORD our God is one God..."..... the true christian is a monotheist. There is one God. "I and my Father are one." "He that hath seen me hath seen the Father." During the past 2000 years of church history there have been specific ministers who have rejected the popular Trinity Concept teaching of Romanism. All Old Testament verses which contain LORD (JEHOVAH) in them and are quoted in New Testament passages show us that JEHOVAH is contained within those N.T. verses, too. Most New Testament publishers do not show this.
