    Introduction to Dunkirk

Reader's Digest is one of my favorite periodicals. During January 1977, I read a story about "Britain's Bath Tub Navy" which so strongly impressed me, I went to the public library to research more about the events during this phase of the war. Recognize some parallels of natural events and battles to our natural and spiritual life as Christians. A book on many personal interviews as well as historical data was checked out on the evacuation of Dunkirk.

Many stories of wartime have touched the lives of thousands of people. One of the most fantastic and miraculous was when the German Panzer tanks and well armed military forces, literally pushed the British and French armies to the coast of France and a little coastal town of Dunkirk. The United States had not yet entered the war. The following accounts are the personal and inspirational observations of the writer while reading a realistic and true account of war.
