MEMBERS IN PARTICULAR

I Corinthians. 12:13-14 "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free: and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many."

YOU are an important member of the body, the body of Christ, the body of a church family.

Have you not heard the chain is only as strong as the weakest link? Let's hook this chain with its weak link to the front of a car and the bumper of a truck. When pressure to pull the car is applied by the truck moving forward, the chain breaks. Reason: The weakest link.

You may say, "But I do not do anything at church. I don't sing, play an instrument, teach a class, preach, etc. How can I be important?"

A body has need of all its members; the eye, the foot, the ear, the head, and on and on. I Corinthians. 12:20 "But now are they many members, yet but one body." No member can say it does not have need of another member. I Corinthians. 12:22-23 "Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary. "And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness."

I Corinthians. 12:26 "And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it."

If you cut your little finger, your whole body would feel the pain and minister to that finger. So is the body of the church. When one member hurts, needs a better job or another job, needs comfort, even needs food, or perhaps just a kind word, the rest of the body, the church family, come to aid that one.

You are important to God. You are important to the body of Christ. You are important to your church family.

Be friendly. Be kind. Be faithful. Read your Bible for its promises and claim some just for you. Or share a promise with a brother or sister who needs it.

You are not a weak link in a chain. You are a MEMBER IN PARTICULAR.
