It laid un-opened as weeks went by. One day while on the internet searching for some other topic I came across some negative phrases in the searchabout the movie. So I clicked. All of these movie incidents came from her. Not Scripture. Who is Anne Catherine Emmerich that she is brought to the same level as the 12 Apostles and allowed to write scripture for public consumption? She was a nun of the Augustinian Order born in Germany born on September 8, 1774. She had supernatural visions. By the age of four she had visits from her guardian angel. She practiced occult levitation (floating in air), and occult astral projection (traveled backwards in time). She said she visited Marie Antoinette, queen of France, in prison and witnessed the execution of King Louis XVI. She said she visited Purgatory and witnessed the crucifixion of Christ which she recorded in her book, The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The Catholic Mass "The goal of the movie is to shake modern audiences by brashly juxtaposing the ''sacrifice of the cross with the sacrifice of the altar [Holy Eucharist] -
which is the same thing," "The juxtaposition of the wounded and bleeding body of Christ on the cross with scenes of the Last Supper compellingly underscores how the Eucharist is
truly the body and blood of Christ." It's Mariology "I've been actually amazed at the way I would say the evangelical audience has----hands down----responded to this film more than any other Christian group."
What makes it so amazing, he says, is that "the film is so Marian [the Roman Catholic worship of Mary]."
John Debney, film's composer on Mary's influence: "I felt from the very start that the key focus of the film and the music wasultimately the experience of Mary, Jesus' mother. Through her eyes we see world-changing events unfold. Finding "Mary's Lullaby," her thematic thread, was crucial. I believe that Mary had a hand in giving me her theme. I was rather stuck, yet through prayer, I came upon what is Mary's theme in the film. The flashback when Mary remembers Jesus falling down as a child is particularly powerful for me. But the Virgin Mary appears in virtually every scene in the movie, and in keeping with traditional Catholic theology, we witness the horrors not so much through our own eyes as through the mediation of hers... "After Evangelicals see this movie they will understand why Catholics have been kneeling in front of the crucifix (Jesus on the Cross) for 1700 years. They will also understand why we love Mary so much and how she suffered." - David MacDonald, Catholic singer Why Seek the Living Among the Dead During a TBN special March 08, 2004 of the movie set, the hollywood Jesus actor, James Caviezel stops while practicing his lines and turns to the camera and says; "Why do you look for the living among the dead?" Truly, why are Christians and evangelicals and Bible believing folk so caught up in a film which is so filled with non-truths? Why are believers by the millions sitting in theaters and purchasing DVD's? They are seeking the living Christ among a spiritually dead hollywood production. It appears that Caviezel is now in the same league with the Caaiphas who spoke prophetically of Christ's death in the gospel. The New York Times stated it is a "puzzle" that Protestants are championing this Roman Catholic version of the death of Christ. When one considers that the Mother of Harlots has daughters who have never strayed very far from their mother, then we are less puzzled than most. Why are Protestant believers lying aside truth for a video version of Christ's life that has so many attachments to the spiritual darkness? The daughters are coming home to Mother. They really do have more in common with their spiritual than they realized. Summary of Catholic Indocrinations
If you have seen the movie, you have now embedded in your mind its images, subscripts, and relentless musical theme. You will be unable to read Scripture or hear preaching again without the recalling of false images of the false hollywood Christ, said one. What should I do Brother Hyde? Ask God to cleanse your mind by the washing of the water by the word. Ask God to forgive you for allowing so much distortion of truth in the name of hollywood. Remember, a Christ movie is not on the same level as any other historical figure. Distortion of a western hero's exploits does not attack your basic faith in God and value of biblical truth as perversions of new testament scripture. Jesus Christ is Truth. Wyatt Earp is not! Different impacts. The Passion touched your flesh and your emotions as any display of gross violence will. No matter the individual being violated. Your emotions had a wonderful time. But, your will was left untouched. Viewing a Roman Catholic movie, applauded by the world and the christian community, produced by a non-born again movie star can never take the place of, nor super-cede the work of the Holy Spirit through an anointed preacher of the gospel. If so lets put our Bibles away and head for the local christian video aisle. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Not by video productions of actors who are merely playing a part. Isaiah; truth has fallen in the streets. But who cares. Do you?? A.W. Tozer said it well. "Be it remembered, the instrument God used to bring the Church out of the darkness was not drama; it was the biblical one of Spirit-baptized preaching. Serious minded men thundered the truth and the people turned to God. Indeed, history will show that no spiritual advance, no revival, no upsurge of spiritual life has ever been associated with acting in any form. The Holy Spirit never honors pretense." Now I know why I never felt in my spirit to watch the Passion Movie. Yes, we had a copy. It is now in the county landfill. Now it's time for your decision??
