A. The word "Apostolic" means we preach and
teach the same Biblical doctrines as the original New Testament 12 Apostles
did in the book of Acts.
Q. Why do people call you "Jesus Only"?
A. "Jesus Only" is a derogatory label that was used to embarass and defame
Holy Ghost filled believers who rejected the popular Catholic idea that God is a trinity
of persons. These "Jesus Only" believers also rejected the words "Father, Son, and
Holy Ghost" in water baptism for "in the name of the Lord Jesus or Jesus Christ.
The label has been used to describe "Oneness" believers who do not believe
they will see three entities or Gods in heaven as the Trinity Concept creates.
Personally, I do not expect to see 3 persons in heaven, ...only 1 person, ...the Lord
Jesus Christ, ....the Almighty God.
Q. What is the "Roman Road" to Salvation?
A. It is a scriptural answer to the question of "what must I do to be saved"? It
is based on Romans 10:9; "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
It is a passage from a letter to the believers in Rome by Apostle Paul. It is used
by most trinitarian believers as a prescription for salvation, rather than use the
original reply given in Acts 2:37-38.
Q. What do mean by the original reply?
A. It reads so in Acts 2:37-38. (v37) Now when they heard this, they were pricked in
their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethern, what
shall we do? (38) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one you in the
name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy
Ghost.
Q. Does that mean their are Two Roads to Salvation?
A. Not really. The majority of christianity attempts to use what they call the
Roman Road of Romans 10:9 to lead people to Christ. By substituting Romans 10:9 for Acts
2:38, new converts are not taught 1) to exercise faith in repentance of sins, to exercise
2) faith in being baptized in water in Jesus'name, nor 3) to exercise faith in receiving
the gift of the Holy Ghost. Biblically, the New Testament church did not have a Roman
Road to salvation. They focused on "continuing stedfastly in the apostles teachings"
rather than other theological methods.
Q. Where is the term Trinity found in the Bible?
A. It doesn't appear, nor was it used by the Holy Spirit during the
Inspiration to any of the writers of Scripture. History shows that one greek philosopher
converted to Christianity named Tertullian (160-225 A.D.); as the first to use the
terms (trinitas) trinity and (personas) persons in trying to describe his concept
of God. Tertullian, by his own admission, confessed that the majority of believers
rejected his ideas of the Godhead.
Q. Could you give me any illustrations that would
help make this clearer?
A. Nature is used often in scripture to illustrate principles. The invisible
revealed by the visible. Doth not nature teach you it says one place.
Human
family relationships can be an illustration. Son, Husband, Father. Daughter, Wife,
Mother. One individual with 3 different relationships to perform.
In physical nature, water is a good example. Water has 3 forms, liquid, solid, and gas.
One substance with three different forms, three different purposes, three different
appearances. Yet, one substance, not three. Nature was our 1st teacher of God and
still teaches the same consistently.
Q. Is God really 3 persons?
A. No. God is a Spirit. God as 3 persons is a teaching brought into the
church after the 12 apostles died. Converted Greek preachers accustomed to many gods,
inserted polytheistic pagan elements into their explanations of God. Jesus Christ
is the person of God. God is not a person.
Q. Do all Trinitarians believe they will see three
gods in heaven?
A. Many say they don't. Some say they will see 3 thrones in heaven, with
the Father on one, the Holy Spirit and Jesus on two other separate thrones.
Trinititarian believers still sing, ...Holy, Holy, Holy, ....God in three persons, ...
blessed Trinity. Oneness believers do not sing that song without re-wording it to be
more scripturally accurate.
If Trinitarians would dis-continue using Ancient Roman Catholic expressions
in depicting God as 3 persons, it would remove one more barrier that One God, Oneness,
Monotheistic believers can not cross.
Q. If God is a Spirit, then who is the Holy Spirit
and the Spirit of Christ?
A. Oneness, Monotheistic believers in Jesus Christ understand there is
but one Holy Spirit. He has been designated as God, the Spirit, the Holy Spirit,
the Spirit of Christ, the Holy Ghost, etc.
Q. Why is the Name of Jesus emphasized so much more by Apostolic preachers?
A. Because we see the name of Jesus as the Name of the Lamb which atoned for our sins.
Jesus is the name of the sacrifice, the blood name and is above all other names in heaven and in earth.
Q. Are you saying that the name of Jesus is more
important than "Father", "Son", or "Holy Ghost"?
A. Yes. It is different. Let me try to explain.
Q. Why do you make so much of the name of Jesus ?
A.
Because Jesus name is the only name for the born again apostolic child of God?
Did you know that Jesus' Name is ....?
- ...the blood name of (1 Pet 1:9),
- ...the baptizing name of (Acts 8:16),
- ...the devil casting out name of (Mrk16:17),
- ...Emmanuel's name of (Mat 1:23),
- ...the Father-Son-Holy Ghost name of (Mat 28:19),
- ...the family name of (Eph 3:15),
- ...God's name of (Isa 9:6),
- ...the healing name of (Acts 3:16),
- ...the knee-bowing name of (Philp 2:10),
- ...the Lord's name of (Lk 2:11),
- ...that none other name of (Acts 4:12),
- ...the One name of (Zech 14:9),
- ...the preaching name of (Acts 8:12),
- ...the repentance name of (Lk 24:47),
- ...the remission of sin name of (Acts10:43),
- ...the salvation name of (Acts 4:12),
- ...the speaking with new tongues name of (Mark16:17),
- ...the name above every name of (Phil.2:9),
- ...the what so ever you do name of (Col.3:17),
- ...the washed, sanctified, justified name of (1Cor.6:11),
- ...the Word made flesh name of (Joh.1:14,17),
...the Name of Our LORD JESUS CHRIST! It's all in His Name!
Q. What do you say when you baptize someone?
A. Something along these lines when possible. Father, you commanded us
to go into all the world, teaching all nations and baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. We are here today to obey that command.
Upon the confession of ________ faith in the sacrificial blood of Jesus Christ for their
sins, and upon their confessed repentance of their sins, I now baptize ________ in the
name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins.
(see Matt 28:19, Acts 2:38)
Q. How important is Water Baptism to Salvation?
A. God placed water baptism in the salvation process.
The baptism act was not questioned in the New Testament, it was just practiced by :
John the Baptist, Jesus, the 12 Apostles, and the church. Water baptism is mentioned
over 25 times in the four gospels, nearly 30 times in the book of Acts alone, and about
10 times in the Epistles.
One Old Testament parallel shows that Israel, though delivered
from Egypt by the blood, were still in the land of Egypt (bondage, slavery, sin) until
they were baptized unto Moses in the cloud and sea during the Red Sea crossing.
(1Cor 10:1-2)
Jesus said it this way; He that believeth
and is baptized shall be saved.. Mark 16:16.
Q. What is Catholic Baptism?
A. Catholic Baptism follows the form of Matthew 28:19; "in the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."
Q. Didn't the 1st New Testament church baptize using
"in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost"?
A. No. Not according to Biblical record. If interested you should consider:
- Acts 2:38 ... be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
- Acts 8:16 ... only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
- Acts 10:48 ... he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.
- Acts 19:5 ... they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
- Acts 22:16 ... arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
Unanimous agreement. No one was ever baptized in scripture "in the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost"
Q. Don't you by-pass the Father and Holy Ghost in Jesus name baptism?
A. Only to those who truly believe in three individuals or three persons or three Gods in the Godhead.
Q. What about the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19?
A. Great commission is a theologian's label which isolates 1 portion of Jesus' farewell
instructions from the other parts given in Mark, Luke, John, and Acts. You will find Christ's Complete
farewell Commission to his disciples in Matthew 28:19,20; Mark 16:15-18; Luke 24:46-49; and Acts 1:4-8.
Q. Is the Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit the same Spirit?
A. Yes. There is only 1 Spirit. Leave that as a scriptural anchor.
Q. Doesn't the Bible say God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost?
A. No. That is another theologian term. Assure yourself with your computer bible.
Q. What does Rapture mean?
A. Rapture is a word that is not found in the Bible, in neither the English
translation nor in the Greek text. It is rooted in Latin used in Jerome's Vulgate
as a translation of the Greek "harpazo" - seize, catch, or pluck.
Q. I have heard that this secret catching away has
been traced to the 1800's Scottish revival and a lady named Margaret MacDonald.
A. Yes.
A vision
Margaret had was used as a catalyst by John Darby in forming this teaching. Later, Scofield
promoted it in his popular Bible.
Q. What does the term "rapture" mean now?
A. It came into use a little over a hundred years ago to describe a secret,
invisible coming of Jesus and secret resurrection of all dead Christians, prior to the
Great Tribulation.
The Rapture escape became popular among fundamentalists and was formalized in the
footnotes of Scofield's Reference Bible (1909). In 1930, Scofield's bible became the
first Oxford University Press book to reach sales of one million.
The word Rapture now defines a secret, premillenial, pretribulational, and invisible,
return of Jesus Christ for certain members of his church while the others remain behind to
for seven years of Anti-Christ rule and Great Tribulation.
Q. Who is the Mother of Harlots in Revelation
17:4 ?
A. She represents a christian church system who has played the whore against
her marriage vows to Christ. As Mother, her many spiritual fornications, conceived within
her many daughter church systems. Daughter church systems were born, had a life
of their own; yet, the daughters also played the harlot spiritually against Christ,
just as their mother. The best example of the Mother system is Roman Catholicism.
Q. Then who are the Harlots she Mothered ?
A. The daughter harlot systems are those church systems which came out of
the Mother. At one time the Protestant church denominations represented the Harlot
daughters. Now many other churches and christian systems are also included as harlots.
Q. With all the numerous churches we have today;
How can I distinguish a harlot daughter church from those churches that are not spiritual
harlots?
A. All churches have a name over the door. Some represent denominations. Others
operate or stand alone. Since it is spiritual fornication. Look for spiritual unfaithfulness in
their preaching and teaching. Look at how many of their fundamental doctrines are the same
or compatible with Catholicism. The unfaithfulness is to God's Word.
Q. How can I recognize a faithful church, one that
is not a harlot?
A. Christian churches who are faithful to Christ and His Word have not elevated
themselves above the original N. T. gospel. They contend for the same faith that was once
delivered to the early 12 apostles. They stay as scriptural as possible and resist any
dogma or creed that even hints at changing what the apostles preached in Acts and the
Epistles.
Q. Are there any trademarks of the faithful churches
that I should look for?
A. Faithful churches tend to lean away from easy believism. They preach, just
as
their biblical predecessors, Faith in Christ, Repentance of past sins, water baptism of
each new convert, honor Jesus' name in water baptism, receiving of the gift of the Holy
Ghost with speaking in tongues, and living a separated life-style. All were characteristics
of the New Testament believers.
Faithful churches exalt Jesus Christ in all their preaching. They never suggest that God
is a Trinity. They proclaim God is One, and that the only God you will see in heaven is
the Lord Jesus Christ. The New Birth, being born again of the water and the Spirit is not an
option. It has always been God's plan of salvation for his faithful.
Q. What are the trademarks of churches which are
under the influence of the harlot spirit?
A. They tend to preach Christ as Savior to all that simply believe and confess
Christ. Repentance of sin, water baptism and receiving the (Acts 2) gift of the Holy
Spirit are not usually integral components of their gospel to the lost. They tend to
intellectualize away the need for repentance, water baptism, and teach that all
believers receive the gift of the Holy Ghost upon confessing Christ or confirmation.
Unfaithful churches also preach such Catholic dogma as "water bapism or sprinkling in
the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost" and that God is three
persons or a trinity, and exalt ministers above the laity.
Churches under the influence of the Harlot Spirit do not realize how much they
have in common with their Mother, Roman Catholicism.
Q. What do you mean by "easy believeism"?
A. Typically, church systems under the influence of the harlot spirit invite
converts to Jesus differently than in the book of Acts. For instance, what follows is a
plan of salvation by a renown trinity pentecostal ministry.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in
him should not perish, but have everlasting life" ...John 3:16
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" ....Romans 3:23
"Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is none other name under heaven given
among men, whereby we must be saved." ...Acts 4:12
"But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even
to them that believe on his name." ....John 1:12
All of the above are well known and loved scriptural passages, yet did you notice that none
of them were ever used to convert the lost in the New Testament. No one is asked to
repent of their sins, no one is asked to be baptized in water, no is asked to receive
the Holy Ghost. A real "easy" plan of salvation.
We shouldn't be surprised that the church world is spiritually destitute.
Q. What do you mean by a Mark?
A.
Q. What does Revelation mean?
A.
Q. What does the Bible mean when it says to be
separate?
A.
Q. How can I tell exactly when Jesus Christ will
return again?
A.
Q. What is truth?
A.
Q. Why are there so many different Bible translations
today?
A.
Q. What does Babylon mean?
A. Babylon comes from the Biblical word; Babel. It means confusion. Languages
and understanding were confused at the tower of babel. The later kingdom of Babylon was
a religiously confused culture with shrines and temples to some 50 different false gods.
Later, Daniel's God, Jehovah, was also accepted into this religious confusion.
Q. What part does Iraq play in Mystery Babylon at the
endtime?
A. Because truth in the physical, natural realm parallels spiritual truth in the
kingdom of God we can see that there is much spiritual upheaval occurring in the
religious spiritual realm. Demon activity and spiritual deceit has increased. Other
than as a shadow indicator of real spiritual kingdom activity; there is not much need to
focus upon Iraq.
Mystery Babylon is not a literal country, nor a literal city as it once was. Now it is
a spiritual entity. Which is just as real, even though it can not by seen by the naked
eye. We should focusing upon the spiritual. There is much deceit and deception in
the christian community.
Q. Why is she called Mystery Babylon? We all know
about ancient Babylon?
A. That is the problem. Everyone thinks they know. They do know on an
intellectual level. But the obvious is not the mystery. The mystery is that the natural
mind may not understand this mystery except by a revealing of the Holy Spirit. Everyone
talks about Babylon, but because they are being led by their mind or intellect, they are
missing the true work of the Holy Spirit.
Here is a good example. The Millerite movement of the 1800's gave rise to the
Seventh Day Adventists of today. One of their doctrines said that Christ's presence came
to earth during the latter 1800's and has remained. Their intellect saw something. But
the endtime out-pouring of the Spirit, a latter-day Pentecost, which began near the turn of
the century by-passed the Adventists. As a group they saw intellectually of a move of the
Spirit but could not receive the revelation in their spirit, as a group. The mind will
never see exactly what the Spirit desires to accomplish.
Q. Why are there so many church assembly places
today?
A. In the beginning churches sprung up in the homes of believers. Preaching occurred
in individual houses; "from house to house". A church assembly met in the house of
Priscilla and Aquila; ..as well as in the house of Chole, ..the house of Stephanas,
..Nymphus' house, ..and Philemon's house.
